Counseling Department Overview
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Kiski Area counseling program is to effectively work and collaborate with students, parents, educators, business/community members, and post secondary organizations to support all students in their academic, career, and social/emotional development. School counselors will assist all students in their unique development as responsible, productive, accountable, and successful citizens. As a result, all students will be prepared to leave Kiski Area ready for post-secondary education and/or the workplace.
Each student has TWO High School Counselors, an Academic/Career Counselor and a Personal/Social Counselor assigned to them according to the student's last name.
- The Academic/Career Counselor advises students on academic courses and programs, as well as topics related to post-graduation career choices.
- The Personal/Social Counselor provides students with short-term intervention services designed to promote positive mental health and help to overcome barriers to student success.
